Hey, Grayson's dad here

Grayson is currently obsessed with collecting Pokemon cards, he also really wants a new Nintendo switch after his last one broke, I suggested he sold his artwork and put the money towards them.

The issue is he's seven so his artwork is still a little bit, how do I put this politely…well… it's shit.

However, maybe if we put the art on something functional that people could use like bookmarks, then maybe people will buy them.

After asking why I couldn't just buy them for him and subsequently save him all the hard work drawing pictures on bookmarks, I explained how it would be a great lesson in how business works, plus if he wanted the Pokemon cards and Nintendo Switch that badly then he should be prepared to work for them.

He couldn't argue with that.

So he sat next to me in my office for several hours and set to work drawing his bookmarks and created his first little business, ‘Graysons Bookmarks'.

It's been so much fun working on this project this with him and teaching him all about what goes into setting up a business. (I haven't covered tax yet, might leave that for a couple of years as I don't want to break his spirit so soon)

He's learnt about how to develop an idea, how you can bring it to life but most importantly he's learnt about the rewards that come from working hard on something.

 

Please note, these are hugely overpriced, I suggested he sell them for £4 but he demanded we charge far more.

Please also note: You'll get a random bookmark and please keep in mind some of the bookmarks are absolutely bloody awful.

Please also note: All the money this makes will go straight to Grayson.
